Now, if you save your soul, keep it, you’re going to lose it. If you give it back to God, you’ll keep it.
The Holy Bible
And it’s spoke five times in the Bible. Now, and I said, “If the father and mother of Moses kept him, they would lose it; if they’d give him back to God, they’d keep him.” And in this little bark that you’re sailing in tonight, you’ve got a precious thing in there; it’s a soul. If you keep it, you’ll lose it. Go on keep it, go on out to the world and act like the rest of them; you’ll lose it. But if you’ll give it back to the One Who gave it to you, you’ll keep it. Amen
Life is full of many exchanges. It is a natural law. Day in day out you exchange something for another. You are always giving something and receiving something in its place. We breath out carbon dioxide and plants use it and give us oxygen. Exchange! In business we exchange money for food, clothes, and many others.
But I would like you to look around you and see the kind of exchange you’re making or have made. There is an exchange that we have to make or shall make, consciously and unconsciously whether we like it or yes. And this exchange is between our soul, the word of God and the world. Simply between us, Jesus and the devil. One has the gift of life and the other gift of knowledge of good and evil. One leads to eternity and the other to destruction. Which of these, have you made exchange with? If you know what you have exchange your soul for you shall then know whom you have entered into the transaction with.
If you make an exchange with Christ it is not that much of a comfort and ease. His way is narrow and the gate strait. You give Him your will and He has the Lordship over you. You go where He asks you to go and only does what He asks you to do only. You are no longer of yourself but now a prisoner and a fool, but for Christ. Yes , you have to refuse, forsake and leave all, and take up your cross and follow. You must sit down and count the cost, then you take the step and be ready and determined to go unto the end. Because, he that sets the plough to plough and turns to look back is not worthy of the price. You must be ready to pay the price no matter what others do or say. Be like Moses, Jacob, Joseph and Daniel. And remember the reward is eternal life Lk 9:57-62.
But if you make an exchange with the devil, satan, though it will all seem to be of great comfort and ease, pleasure, lust and pride because you are free to go to anywhere you like and do whatever pleases you, here on this earth. But, remember it is only for a short period of time then eternally gone, you’re doomed! Eccl 11:8-12:1 “ But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.” Heb 11:24-27 “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”
Are you loosing your life for Christ or trying to save it by fighting for the things of the world? The lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life? Consider the kind of exchange you’re making as you go to fornicate. That three minutes pleasure you don’t consider so much is an exchange of your soul for eternal doom. Because the soul that sins must die. And fornication is a sin. And sin is unbelief in the word of God. It is because you don’t believe in the word of God that’s why you kill, murder, fornicate, steal and commit adultery. Because the word says, “thou shall not…”, and if you believe it you shall keep it. For Jesus said, “if you love me obey my commandments”. If you have the love or fear of God in you, you wont do that. You do that because you don’t fear God. If you fear or respect your father, you do whatever he tells you.
We do all sort of evils and ask why the ‘olden days’ were better than today? The Bible says it is not wise to ask such a question. Because gone are the days when people had the fear of God in their hearts. So they were blessed every way.
They had great yields in their farm and animal produce. But because of our wickedness today, look at the way we are suffering bird and swine flu, cankered foods, eggs and many dangerous diseases. We have brought it upon ourselves. So God says he is bringing an end upon the earth, a destruction. He says he will judge us according to our ways, he will recompense us for all our abominations and unclean ways. And he affirms it that he shall not spare nor have mercy or pity. Ezk 7. Why because, by going our own ways we have wronged him. And Samuel said “If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.” 1sam 2:25. look it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hand of the living God. And he says he shall come with fire to destroy the earth, because he had had a controversy, that’s a great misunderstanding, with the people of this earth, because there is no fear of Him among the people, no truth, no mercy and knowledge of God, but rather swearing, lying and killing, stealing and committing adultery.(Heb 10:31; Isa 66:15,16; Hos 1:14-18).
The Bible says why has the faithful city become an harlot, it was full of judgment and righteousness but now murderers. You see? So don’t ask why were the “olden days” better than today. Isa 1:21-24. And the Bible says when the righteous are in authority the nation rejoice, but if the wicked bears rule the nation suffers. Pro 29:2, see? So we are suffering as a nation because our leaders, both religious and political leaders, are no longer faithful and righteous, they are full of greed; thinking of themselves only and nothing about the people that they bear the rule over. So because of this the Bible says, the great day of the Lord is near and hastens greatly, to come upon all, both the priests and the princes or rulers. Zeph 1:2-18; Isa 56:10-57:1-2; Mic 3:1-12; Isa 1:21-24; Jer 32:31,32. and he says nothing can deliver them from his hands. They shall walk as blind men on THAT DAY.
You see what the exchange you are making can cause your soul too? Not only the priests or the wicked rulers shall suffer the wrath of God, but you and I too, if we fail to go the God’s provided way. He says he shall shake both the earth and the Heaven this time, melt and burn whatever is in the heavens and on the earth, roll the sky like a scroll. All these things that we are trying to exchange our lives for are passing and shall pass away. What manner of people are we to be?
